Over the weekend, an 18-year-old is said to have held his mother hostage and fired at cops. On Monday, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain gave a detailed report of what happened in less than two hours.
Chamberlain played a recording of the 911 call to help explain what the cops were doing.
“This was, without a doubt, a dangerous situation that was changing quickly,” Chamberlain said of the frantic call.
The people who called said the suspect lived in the same apartment as them and was hitting the mom and making threats against neighbors. A 911 interpreter was used to help people talk to each other.
Soon after, police officers arrived at the scene.
