Philadelphia Gang Alleged Hit Man Arrested by US Marshals after Multiple Murders

Philadelphia, PA — A 25-year-old Philadelphia gang member has been arrested after being wanted for three separate murders, including the killing of a 16-year-old, authorities report. Tyvine Jones, alleged to be a hit man for the Blumberg gang, was captured Wednesday at an apartment complex in Delaware County, according to the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia.

Jones Linked to Multiple Murders

According to Eric Gartner, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Jones was one of Philadelphia’s “Most Wanted” for his role in the deaths of three individuals between 2020 and 2022.

Authorities say the three victims, aged 16, 20, and 23, were killed in Philadelphia during August 2020, May 2022, and September 2022, all suffering gunshot wounds. Details regarding the specific circumstances of each homicide have not been released.

Authorities Describe Suspect as Highly Dangerous

Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark described Jones as “the very worst society has to offer,” emphasizing that his disregard for human life poses a continued threat to the public. Clark added that Jones should be considered armed and highly dangerous, underscoring the seriousness of the capture.

Capture After Anonymous Tip

The task force received an anonymous tip that led them to the Stratford Court Apartments, where Jones was believed to be hiding. U.S. Marshals, alongside Pennsylvania Attorney General agents and Philadelphia homicide detectives, surrounded the complex and successfully located Jones.

Jones was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Philadelphia Homicide Detective Division for processing. Authorities confirmed no shots were fired during the arrest.

Law Enforcement Response

Following the arrest, Marshal Gartner praised the coordinated efforts, saying:

“Together with our Philadelphia PD and other partners, our commitment to the citizens of Philadelphia remains steadfast: the relentless pursuit of violent fugitives such as Tyvine Jones, whose unrestrained existence serves only to diminish our great city.”

Officials highlighted the importance of interagency collaboration in apprehending violent criminals who pose ongoing threats to public safety.

Community Impact

The arrest of Jones brings relief to the Philadelphia community, where violent crime related to gang activity has been a persistent concern. Authorities continue to emphasize the need for citizen tips and cooperation to ensure the safety of residents and the swift capture of violent offenders.
