A guy from Queens is being charged of carrying out an unlawful medical treatment on a lady, which the police claim has resulted in the woman being admitted to the hospital. When he attempted to escape the country, he was apprehended.
It has been reported by the police that Felipe Hoyos-Foronda, 38, was operating a makeshift medical office without a license out of a residence located on 35th Street in Astoria.
The residence is currently subject to a partial vacate order, which alleges that it is the “first apartment operating as a medical office with medical exam table, cosmetic injectable syringes, and exam lights.”
There was an illegal medical treatment performed on a woman at her home in Queens, according to the NYPD.
It was reported to the police that a woman who was 31 years old went to the residence of Hoyos-Foronda on Friday in order to have her butt implants removed.
It would appear that something went horribly wrong while the procedure was being performed.
According to the authorities, Hoyos-Foronda first summoned emergency medical services and then fled the scene. The woman, who was 31 years old, was found to be unresponsive by the officers when they arrived at the residence.
The proprietor of the building provided the detectives with information and a picture of Hoyos-Foronda, according to the detectives.
After that, the license plate reader system of the city detected a hit on his vehicle as it was traveling on the Van Wyck Expressway close to John F. Kennedy International Airport.
At the airport, Hoyos-Foronda was taken into custody by law enforcement. Apparently, he was in possession of a ticket for a flight to Colombia.
A criminal complaint states that Hoyos-Foronda admitted to “performing the surgical procedure on the victim without a license to do so” and indicated that he “administered lidocaine via a syringe, causing her to go into cardiac arrest.” Hoyos-Foronda is accused of causing the victim to fall into cardiac arrest.
According to the authorities, the woman is still being treated in the hospital, and she is exhibiting signs of lidocaine toxicity. She also does not have any cerebral activity.
It is anticipated that Hoyos-Foronda will return to court on Thursday.
The New York Police Department has issued a release in which they are requesting that further possible victims come forward.
