Because of the rain and storms in the area, we have a first warning for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
We don’t think the whole weekend will be a washout. The area will have dry spells, so you should plan what to do inside in case the weather turns bad.
It will be mostly dark and foggy in the morning on Saturday, with drizzle and a few showers.
It will rain here and there during the day, and the chances of it happening in our northwest areas will rise by evening.
Overnight, the rains will move northeast, and along the Red River, they may last until Sunday morning, when the sun comes up.
Sunday is a cool, cloudy, and breezy day with highs in the lower 80s.
Again, a few showers may happen during the day, and the chances of rain rise in the evening in our northwest areas.
A few strong storms could happen Sunday night north of I-20 and west of I-35. Hail up to the size of a quarter could happen, and wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible.
The small risk will cover the whole state as the cold front moves through North Texas on Monday.
On Monday, stronger dynamics will make the danger even more serious.
Models don’t agree on when the storms will happen, but it looks like it will rain a lot today.
This weekend, we will keep making changes to the times of strong to severe storms.
You should keep your rain gear close by and have more than one way to be notified of bad weather.
We need the rain, and the trend that isn’t stable will bring it. The Red River will get the most rain.
Some showers may stay overnight into Tuesday morning, but the front will move east, leaving us with a mix of sun and clouds for most of the day.
Winds from the north will bring in cooler air, keeping highs in the 60s on Tuesday and morning lows in the upper 40s on Wednesday.
After a short break in the rain, the chances of rain will rise again Wednesday night into Thursday.
