New Restaurants Salt Grass and Rare Will Begin Serving Customers by Mid-2025

Known for its vision of constructing iconic urban condominiums, Lanterra Developments, which is led by Chairman Mark Mandelbaum and President and CEO Barry Fenton, is pleased to announce that a new upscale restaurant called Salt Grass & Rare will be coming to luxury residences 50 Scollard in Yorkville once the development is finished in the middle of the year 2025.

As stated in a news release, restaurateurs Michael Dabic and Derek Von Raesfeld, who are well-known for being the geniuses behind The Butcher Chef, Oliver’s Steakhouse, and Michael’s On Simcoe, will introduce this new culinary destination to Yorkville in the form of an immaculately equipped fine dining institution. As a group, they will be responsible for the curation of bespoke culinary experiences and the presentation of the most recent developments in architecture, design, and fine art.

A contemporary dining room, bar and lounge, and grand terrace will be included in Salt Grass & Rare, which will be situated inside a verdant area that includes water elements. In order to create the design of the restaurant, Forma Officium Architects and the in-house design team of the restaurant company will work together. Additional information regarding the cuisine will be disclosed closer to the day of the grand opening. Chef Derek Von Raesfeld will be in charge of the food.

“We at Lanterra Developments are committed to creating destinations that redefine luxury living and elevate the urban experience,” stated Mark Mandelbaum, Chairman of Lanterra Developments, in a press release. “We are excited to be a part of this endeavour.” The arrival of Salt Grass & Rare to 50 Scollard will be absolutely remarkable, as it will bring eating of the highest calibre to the very centre of Yorkville neighbourhood. Through this partnership with Michael Dabic and Derek Von Raesfeld, we are able to further emphasise our vision of integrating outstanding architectural design, intelligent design, and carefully tailored lifestyle experiences for our residents and the wider community.

50 Scollard will be a 41-story ultra-luxury residential tower that will be situated in the centre of Bloor-Yorkville. It will be comprised of 129 suites units that range in size from 1,200 to over 5,000 square feet. Nearly all of the residences will have elevators that open directly into the unit, and the majority of the floors will be reserved for a maximum of one to two units. The project will redefine city living by offering new levels of grandeur and service that is inspired by hotels to a select few individuals, while simultaneously setting a standard of quality that has never been seen before. The Forest Hill Group will provide a variety of five-star amenities, including a chauffeured house car service for residents, a vehicle wash facility, a pet spa, valet parking and an exclusively stocked wine room, amongst many other exceptional and one-of-a-kind offers. These amenities will raise the bar for luxurious living.

Through a press statement, Michael Dabic, co-owner of Salt Grass & Rare, expressed his excitement over the opening of the restaurant. “We are excited to unveil Salt Grass & Rare, a distinctive approach to fine dining in Yorkville,” he stated. In addition to showcasing the most recent trends and advancements in architecture, design, and art, our one-of-a-kind adaptation of the contemporary steakhouse will also place an emphasis on the culinary perfection of our establishment.
