The mother and wife from aNew Hampshire familyfound dead Monday allegedly used a handgun to kill her husband and two children before dying by suicide, state officials announced Wednesday.
The four family members were identified by investigators as Emily Long, 34; Ryan Long, 48; Parker Long, 8; and Ryan Long, 6. Inside the house in Madbury, a tiny town approximately 15 miles from Portsmouth, a third child, a toddler, was discovered alive and unharmed.
According to Attorney General John Formella, the boy and girl died from single gunshot wounds to the head, according to autopsies of both youngsters. Ryan Long, a school psychologist, was shot numerous times and died as a result. According to the AG, Emily Long passed away from a single gunshot wound to the head.
According to authorities, Emily Long got a revolver from the house early on August 18 and killed her husband and two children before shooting herself right away.
Officials said that after receiving a 911 call from the residence on Moharimet Drive, police located the family at approximately 8:21 p.m. on Monday.
According to the AG’s statement, people should refrain from assuming that a single stressor or cause was responsible for the incident, even though investigators are learning about a number of worries and problems that were present in the home at the time.
Emily Long freely discussed her husband’s treatment for aggressive brain cancer, glioblastoma, in recent videos uploaded to a now-private TikTok account. She discussed his seizures, increased anger, and difficulty finding the correct pharmaceutical regimen.
Emily Long also talked about being depressed and worried about how the couple’s kids were being affected by Ryan Long’s condition. In her last video, which was uploaded on Saturday with the caption “Making a Change,” she talked about her attempts to alter her routine and perspective in the face of her continuous battle with melancholy.
According to a Sun video footage, she stated, “I’m trying to get myself out of the rut.” Our children are undoubtedly having difficulties, and I’m now beginning to see some changes in our 3-year-old.
