New England has 2 of the best trails to explore worldwide in 2025, according to AllTrails

According to AllTrails, two of the best places to explore amazing trails this summer are in New England.


  • A guide to Boston s Freedom Trail

The Freedom Trail in Boston and the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire were included on the list of 25 trails to explore in 2025 by the outdoor discovery platform.

According to the website, a must-do activity in Boston is to walk the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail, which links 16 historical monuments and draws over 4 million visitors each year.

America’s 250th birthday is in July 2026, but festivities in Massachusetts begin in 2025, according to AllTrails. Both history enthusiasts and inquisitive tourists can journey back in time and relive the occasions leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The National Park Service website offers visitors a complimentary audio tour of the Freedom Trail, according to the website.

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is commemorating 100 years of trail management this year. According to AllTrails, the Appalachian Trail is one of the world’s most cherished thru-hikes.

Over 3 million people visit the more than 2,000-mile path each year, which passes through 14 states.

The Appalachian and Ranger Trails lead to Smarts Mountain, one of our top hikes in White Mountain National Forest, according to AllTrails. Just over 7 miles long, this picturesque loop presents an inspiring challenge. And you’ve come to the perfect spot if you enjoy seeing views of mountains.

The Sentiero della Pace in Italy, the Slaughter Pen Trail in Arkansas, and the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track in New Zealand are among the other trails on the list.
