The most recent restaurant news in Brookline includes the announcement of a forthcoming attraction, the launch of a grand opening, and the closing of a well-known establishment in the area.
Caviar from Marky’s
A store that will be located on Harvard Street close to Coolidge Corner is going to be opened by the caviar retail and restaurant company known as Marky’s Caviar.
The licensing records that were submitted to the town indicate that the shop will be located at 420 Harvard Street, adjacent to the Tatte that is already in operation.
Both a retail store selling caviar as well as other “high-quality, gourmet products” and a cafe that serves caviar and other foods paired with champagne, wine, and vodka are included in the plans, according to the paperwork that were presented to the town.
The records do not include a date that is anticipated to be the opening of Marky’s Caviar, and the restaurant did not respond to a request for comment.
At long last, PLNT Burger has opened its doors
The long-awaited launch of the Coolidge Corner site of PLNT Burger, a quick casual food business that serves vegan burgers, has finally taken place.
Through a post on social media, the company made the announcement that it will open its eatery located at 297 Harvard Street on Wednesday, December 11 at 5:30 p.m. or later.
According to the post, the first one hundred customers will receive free burgers following the cutting of the ribbon celebration.
“We serve burgers, fries and shakes that happen to be plant-based but still as delicious as your classic fast casual burger joint,” CEO Ben Kaplan stated to licensing officials in Brookline last year. “Think Five Guys or Shake Shack in style and menu quality, but better for you and better for the planet.”

There is a closure of Bess’s Cafe
One of the most popular Chinese takeaway restaurants in the neighborhood of The Point, Bess’s Cafe, which specialized in noodles and dumplings, has recently declared its closure.
The proprietors of the restaurant located at 224 Cypress Street were unable to be reached for comment; nonetheless, the establishment’s doors have been locked down, and its website and social media accounts have been taken down by the owners.
When Tim Rowell visited the restaurant on its last day, which was during the last week of November, he posted about his experience in a Brookline Facebook page. “We will miss having them around!” According to Rowell.
