Our major area of attention is in the west, in parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Monsoon-like moisture will be coming up through Mexico, which will make it more likely for heavy rain and thunderstorms in some parts of each state. Before it moves into the panhandle of Texas, western Oklahoma, and a big part of Kansas, we’ll first keep an eye on New Mexico to see if that starts to organize.
There could be some serious weather in these heavy showers and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow night. Watch out for the chance of harmful winds, big hail, lightning, and heavy rain. This is because the storms are moving slowly. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for southeast New Mexico and the area just over the border with Texas. We might also see those watches get bigger if it makes sense.
Today will have more and more sunshine, and in some places, the winds will be strong and reach 30 mph. In the NYC area, highs will be between 75 and 80 degrees.
Today is still sunny, but tomorrow it will be around 60 degrees. On Sunday, the temperature will drop to the mid to upper 50s, and there will be more sunshine.
Next week, your workweek starts with sunny, mild weather with highs around 60. On Tuesday, temperatures rise back up to the low to mid-70s for a short two to three-day stretch.
