At work on a dump truck in Jackson, Mississippi, on Monday, hot asphalt poured on top of him and killed him.
The 41-year-old man was working on a hydraulic line under the truck in Jackson, Mississippi, on Monday when the door opened and asphalt fell on him. This was the news from the Jackson Police Department on Facebook.
At the scene of the accident, Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade told reporters that the accident was reported around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
The victim was a private worker, and when they got there, they found him “buried under hot asphalt.”
“It appeared to be some type of malfunction with his dump truck,” he said. “The vehicle that he was here to pick up the asphalt with as he tried to fix the vehicle of mitigation issue with, the vehicle unloaded all this hot asphalt onto him.”
“He tried to fight to make it through those injuries, but it was just too huge for him to survive,” Wade said of the people who were at the scene of the crime.
“Terrible situation”
Wade said that he was sorry for what happened and that his heart “goes out to his family.” She called it a “horrific situation.”
“I talked to some of his family right here.” “They said he was a good man who worked hard and was just trying to make a living,” Wade said. “They got hurt. They were hurt badly.
Wade said that the police had looked into the death, but “it appears to be an accidental death at this time.” He also said that the police are still looking into the facts to find out what went wrong.
