Massachusetts, New York & Vermont Brace for Snow Under Winter Weather Advisory

It’s Albany, NY. Parts of New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont are under a winter weather advisory. Up to five inches of snow is expected to fall across the area. From midnight on Friday night until 2 p.m. on Saturday, the warning covers parts of Berkshire County, Massachusetts, as well as Albany.

The National Weather Service says that it will start to snow around midnight and get worse in the early hours of Saturday. It may snow up to an inch every hour for a short time, mostly in the southern Green Mountains and eastern Catskills. Heavy snowfall is most likely to happen in places like Brattleboro, Bennington, and Great Barrington. Some higher hills could get more than five inches of snow.

Drivers are warned to be careful on slippery roads and to expect journey delays because of the dangerous driving conditions. The National Weather Service says to slow down and give yourself more time for driving because snow could fall quickly. Conditions should get better by Saturday afternoon.

People who live in the affected places should get ready for winter and keep up with how things are changing.
