What does that signify, though?After Mansfield Stadium, REV Entertainment, and FC Dallas applied to FIFA for consideration, the project began construction on December 18, 2024, as a Team Base Camp option, according to Mansfield’s communications manager.FIFA defines a Team Base Camp as a combination of lodging and training facilities that will act as teams’ main base during the group stage, where they will rest, practice, and get ready for games.One of the cities on the list of potential locations for a Team Base Camp is Mansfield.FIFA has announced that teams will submit their final selections after the FIFA World Cup 26 Final Draw.The geographic zones in which teams will play their group matches will be revealed at the draw, which is expected to take place in December 2025. This information will help teams make decisions about where to set up their Team Base Camps.”This is an exciting opportunity to have more people visit our amazing community,” stated the communications manager for Mansfield. Apart from the work Mansfield is undertaking to ensure the stadium is ready on time, all of the obligations to support the squad otherwise rest on the host hotel and training site amenities.With space for 7000 spectators, the stadium will be a fantastic addition to Mansfield, according to city officials.According to the Mansfield Communications Manager, the City Council and leadership have long dreamed of Mansfield Stadium. North Texas Soccer Club, the new home team, will provide the family-friendly experience that our community has been requesting since construction on the stadium began. The stadium is scheduled to open prior to the start of the FIFA World Cup and will host professional soccer matches and other events all year long.
