Maye and McCarthy show progress in Patriots-Vikings joint practices
This week’s joint practices between the Patriots and the Vikings were uneventful.
Although New England had a lot to gain on Wednesday, Minnesota appeared to rally and have the upper hand on Thursday.
It’s time to watch the Patriots’ second preseason game to see how things turn out.
In the home opener of the preseason, New England dominated Washington, winning 48–18. TreVeyon Henderson, a rookie running back, ran the first kickoff 100 yards and scored a touchdown.
Efton Chism, an undrafted rookie wide receiver, caught six passes for fifty yards. DJ James, a standout cornerback during training camp, added an interception to his impressive preseason play.
Will Saturday afternoon’s impressive performance by the Patriots be repeated? Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.; follow along here for real-time updates.
1:11: Maye searches an unfinished wheel route for TreVeyon Henderson. The Patriots kick the ball.
At 1:08, Drake Maye strikes DeMario Douglas’s open hands. The pass bounces upward after Douglas loses it, and Minnesota almost picks it off.
Ben Brown starts at left guard at 1:06. Morgan Moses is replaced at right tackle by rookie Marcus Bryant.
12:45: Stefon Diggs appears to be delaying his trip back to Minnesota. Due to a damaged ACL, the Patriots receiver is currently recuperating. Although he has regularly attended practice, he recently expressed uncertainty about his availability for Week 1 to Diana Russini of The Athletic.
