Greenwood, IN – Authorities in Greenwood, Indiana have arrested Donquarious Ridley, 27, and Raven Barner, 25, after they allegedly attacked several children on a school bus. The incident reportedly took place on October 31, when the couple confronted students over claims of bullying their son.
Ridley and Barner were charged with two counts of battery on a child under 14, with Ridley additionally charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to court documents.
Incident Caught on Video
Police said witnesses reported seeing the couple board the bus without permission, yelling at students. Barner, who is the boy’s stepmother, allegedly initiated a verbal altercation with two children, threatening one by saying she would “beat his a—” and encouraging her stepson to do the same.
Security footage reportedly showed Barner striking two children, one inadvertently, while the bus driver tried to intervene. Ridley allegedly told his son to attack another boy and then shoved a separate child into a bus seat with enough force to strike the side of the vehicle.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Authorities tracked down Ridley and Barner in a vehicle and arrested them during a traffic stop. They were booked into the Johnson County Jail.
Ridley is scheduled to appear in court on December 1, while Barner is expected on December 4. Neither appeared on the jail roster as of the latest update.
