Greetings from Scenic Six again.
For my family, Cape Cod holds a special spot. We have been renting the same beach house for ten years and go every July. Our Cape vacation this year was a little different, but it was still worthwhile. See down for more details.
This week, I also have information about the highly awaited NextGen Acela, King Richard’s Faire, and the best hotels along the waterfront.
How we spent 12 hours on Cape Cod
A Cape Cod-free summer? Unimaginable. We therefore organized a day trip in place of our customary week in Harwich Port when schedule conflicts prevented it from happening.Watch the video of our 12-hour getaway to the Cape, which includes eating lobster rolls by the water, shopping for penny candy, and tanning at one of America’s greatest beaches.
New England waterfront hotels making a big splash
According to USA Today readers, there aren’t many things as soothing as a vacation by the sea, and two hotels in New England stand out from the others. The Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Madison, Connecticut, and the Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham were recognized as two of America’s top waterfront hotels.
Train travel is about to get faster
On August 28, the eagerly awaited NextGen Acela goes live. Between Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C., the train—America’s only high-speed rail service—will go 160 mph along the Northeast Corridor. Upgraded seating, bigger restrooms, a revamped Cafe Acela, and more are all available to visitors.
