Homicide Detectives Investigating After Two Found Injured in Baltimore County Home

Two persons were injured in a town in Baltimore County on Tuesday, according to the police, and homicide detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

After receiving a call at approximately four o’clock in the afternoon reporting an attack that was taking place, officers from the Baltimore County Police Department rushed to a residence located on Avery Hill Drive in Owings Mills.

Aside from the fact that there was some kind of assault that took place inside the house, the police have not disclosed very many specifics.

According to the police, there is no current danger to the neighborhood.

As of the end of March, Baltimore County’s Crime Data indicates that there have been eleven homicides that have occurred inside the county in the current year.

On Tuesday morning, officers from Baltimore County conducted an investigation into a fatal self-inflicted shooting that occurred in the 2500 block of Gray Manor Terrace in Dundalk. The incident occurred after a barricade situation.

A significant amount of time was spent by crisis negotiation and tactical teams in an effort to calm the suspect down. After some time had passed, the officers discovered the man dead inside the house, having shot himself with a gun.

Police reported that a woman emerged from the residence; however, it is not known whether or not she was being held as a hostage.

Baltimore County’s Criminal Activity

Between the beginning of this year and the end of March, there have been eleven homicides in Baltimore County, as indicated by the Crime Data of the Baltimore County Police Department.

The overall rate of criminal activity in Baltimore County has been decreasing. There were a total of 61,154 criminal acts that were reported committed within the county in the year 2023. As per the data provided by the Baltimore County Police Department, there were 58,561 criminal acts that were reported in the year 2024.

Between January 2024 and January 2025, a significant number of the crimes that were reported were offenses related to theft, violence, or fraud. Within the county in the year 2024, there were a total of 665 infractions using weapons.

Meeting for the protection of Baltimore County

A meeting was conducted by the Baltimore County Police Department the week before last in response to a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Catonsville precinct and resulted in the injury of an officer.

An suspected shooter entered the lobby of the Wilkens Precinct, which is located close to the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, on Thursday, March 13.

The individual exited the premises and proceeded to stroll around before coming face to face with a law enforcement officer at a petrol pump located in the parking lot. After then, he drew a weapon from his pocket and began firing bullets at the officer. Following then, a shootout with other officers took place, as reported by the police.

After being struck by gunfire, one cop who was standing outside his vehicle was injured. According to the police, the alleged shooter was also injured and sent to a hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

“It was very clear that this was premeditated,” stated Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough during a news conference that took place after the incident.
