High Noon issues recall over energy drinks mistakenly containing vodka

MODESTO, CA (AP) — Energy drinks that contain vodka by mistake are being recalled in six states.

According to a recall notice released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday, High Noon is recalling two production lots of High Noon Beach Variety packs because part of the packs contain vodka cans that were incorrectly labeled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink.

According to the notice, the cans were mistakenly marketed as Celsius Astro Vibe energy drinks with a sparkling blue razz flavor, but they really contained vodka seltzer.

According to the firm, consuming the liquid in the cans will cause accidental alcohol intake.

Retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin received the packets.

The company started the recall after learning that High Noon had received empty Celsius energy drink cans from a shared packaging supplier.

The company reports that no adverse occurrences or illnesses have been linked to the labeling issue.

The recall notification advised anyone who bought the beverages with the affected codes to throw them away.

Before consuming any Sparkling Blue Razz Celsius Astro Vibe energy drinks, consumers are also advised to confirm that they do not contain the particular lot codes listed in the notification.
