Halloween in East Texas: Haunted Houses, Trunk-or-Treats, and Family Fun Everywhere

East Texas communities are coming alive with Halloween spirit this week. From haunted houses to family-friendly trunk-or-treats, residents have plenty of ways to celebrate. Local businesses, churches, and organizations are joining in to offer fun, food, and festivities for all ages.

Whether you’re looking for something spooky or sweet, there’s a Halloween event near you!

Athens

Athens has a packed Halloween lineup filled with community events and family fun. From petting zoos to karaoke nights, there’s something happening nearly every day.

  • Oct. 29: Brinson Ford of Athens’ Trunk or Treat features a petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, and more.
  • Oct. 29: Trinity Valley Community College hosts a Trunk or Treat with free candy and hot dogs.
  • Oct. 29: Bel Air Elementary hosts games, candy, animals, and food vendors.
  • Oct. 30: First State Bank’s Trunk or Treat begins at 6:30 p.m. for kids in costume.
  • Oct. 31: Halloween at the Morbid Marketplace offers free food, drinks, games, and prizes.
  • Oct. 31: Tri City Church Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat combines faith and fun.
