Guy from Illinois is being charged with attempted murder after a shooting on Indiana's I-65

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. – Because of a shooting on I-65 in Indiana, a guy from Illinois has been charged with attempted murder.

Around 8:15 p.m. Friday, Indiana State Police said they got a call from 911 saying there had been a shooting on I-65 near mile marker 215 by the Rensselaer Exit in Jasper County. The person who called said that someone had shot him while he was driving south.

The suspect, on the other hand, kept heading south, but the caller was able to accurately describe the suspect’s car.

The suspect’s car was later found on I-65 near mile marker 166, just south of Lafayette. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lafayette District Troopers were all told about it.

The police stopped the car and detained three people inside. Investigators also say that a 9mm Glock firearm was found inside the car.

ISP said that one of the living there was charged on Saturday morning. 19. Dwayne Johnson Jr. from Country Club Hills, Illinois, is the person who lived there and has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, battery with a dangerous weapon, and criminal recklessness.

The other two people inside were freed and will not be charged.

The person who was shot was taken to a hospital in Lafayette and then to an Indianapolis hospital to get care. He should be able to get better.
