Gillespie County Fair (2025) Timings, Tickets and Event Line-Up

The 137th Gillespie County Fair, recognized as the oldest continuously running county fair in Texas, will be held from Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds & Exhibition Hall (530 Fair Drive, Fredericksburg, TX)

Timings & Entry

  • Thursday (Aug 21): gates open at 5 p.m.; carnival and midway open at 5 p.m.; free admission to grounds and concerts (no carnival wristband)
  • Friday (Aug 22): gates at 1 p.m.; midway at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday (Aug 23): gates at 11 a.m.; midway at 1 p.m.
  • Sunday (Aug 24): gates open at 11 a.m.; midway runs from 1 to 6 p.m. .

Tickets & Special Arrangements

  • Children under 6  free daily.
  • Friday: students K–12 and seniors 65+ are free until 6 p.m.; adults (13+) $15.
  • Saturday: children (6–12) $5, adults $20; box seats $20.
  • Sunday: children $5, adults $10; box seats $15.
  • Carnival rides require separate wristbands; local food and beverage use token system ($1 = 1 ticket); beer/wine limited to two per person (approx. 5 tickets)

Event Line‑up

  • Parade on Friday morning (Aug 22) starting at 10 a.m. along Main Street in Fredericksburg; over 200 units, free to attend.
  • Livestock judging, arts & crafts, antique tractor show, household exhibits, 4‑H and FFA displays.
  • Carnival and midway games and rides nightly.
  • Live music performances each evening on the main stage, with country and local bands (start times around 7–10 p.m.)
  • Pari‑mutuel horse racing on Saturday and Sunday, a rare offering at a county fair.
  • Specialty events: washer‑pitching tournament, open cattle show, barbecue cook‑off and steers, possibly goat‑roping (2025 schedule pending)
