Georgia Meth Trafficker Sentenced to 20 Years for South Carolina Smuggling Operation

For his part in the distribution of huge quantities of methamphetamine throughout the Upstate region of South Carolina, the final defendant in a major drug trafficking operation was sentenced to nearly twenty years in federal prison.

This term was handed down for his contributions to the scheme.

After entering a guilty plea to the charge of conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, Jeffrey Michael Wilson, who is 54 years old and lives in Commerce, Georgia, was provided with a sentence of 235 months in prison.

This sentence comes after Wilson had already done time for crimes that were quite similar to this one, underscoring the fact that he continued to be involved in operations related to narcotics trafficking.

During the course of the conspiracy, Wilson was responsible for the distribution of more than 89 kilograms of methamphetamine, according to the evidence that was given in court.

During a traffic stop that was carried out by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office in February of 2023, he was discovered to be in possession of more than 5,800 grams of methamphetamine as well as a handgun that was also loaded.

As part of a multi-agency investigation that was led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which is primarily concerned with disrupting and dismantling high-level drug trafficking operations, this particular case was among those that were investigated.
