Four Suspects Nabbed After High-Speed Chase Following 7-Eleven Cigarette Heist

A dramatic pursuit that took officers into Antioch resulted in the arrest of four persons who are suspected of stealing cigarettes from a delivery truck that was parked outside of a 7-Eleven in Pleasant Hill on Thursday.

After receiving allegations of a robbery that was taking place at 601 Patterson Boulevard, officers from the Pleasant Hill Police Department arrived at the location shortly after 2:20 p.m., as stated by the police. When the suspects made their theft, the two delivery drivers were in the middle of a regular delivery when they took many packs of cigarettes from the rear of their truck. Before law enforcement could come, the perpetrators of the crime drove away in a vehicle that had been stolen from them.

During the event, there were no injuries recorded, and there were no firearms that were thought to have been involved.

Detectives were able to find the fleeing vehicle on Highway 4 close to Concord in a short amount of time, and ultimately, a police helicopter followed it all the way to Antioch. A vehicle ultimately came to a stop close to Fremont Elementary School, which was the location where the pursuit came to an end. It was later stated by the Antioch police that the vehicle had collided with a fence close to the intersection of “F” Street and 13th, which prompted the suspects to leave the vehicle and flee on foot.

Deputies from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Antioch Police Department collaborated with authorities from Pleasant Hill to successfully apprehend all four suspects shortly after the incident taking place. The names of the persons who were involved have not been made public by the authorities as of yet.

Calling the Investigations Bureau of the Pleasant Hill Police Department at the number 925-288-4630 is strongly advised for anyone who may have additional information regarding the incident.
