Florida Woman Sarah Boone Sentenced for Suitcase Murder of Boyfriend. Florida’s Orange County The Florida woman who was found guilty of killing her boyfriend in February 2020 by sealing him inside a suitcase, Sarah Boone, will serve out the remainder of her life behind bars. In October 2024, a jury of six found Boone guilty of second-degree murder.

Boone was given a life sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections by Orange County Judge Michael Kraynick. Before her trial, Boone turned down a 15-year plea agreement.

A motion for a new trial submitted by the defense was denied.

Jorge Torres’ mother and sisters spoke on his behalf during the sentence. Boone’s cellmate and another prisoner she met at the Orange County Jail were among the people who spoke on her behalf.

“I don’t hate her,” said Jorge Torres’ mother.

Jorge Torres’s mother recalled her son as an uncle, brother, and father. She revealed, “It’s been hard on my family,” while crying.

Although she refrained from forgiving Sarah Boone, she stated that she does not “hate” her for what she done.

When she said, “I don’t hate her,” “I was fortunate. She won’t be as fortunate as I am since I have my son, whom I reared, and his offspring.”

According to Ava, Torres’ daughter, her father is “one of a kind” and a “hidden gem.” According to her, her father was captured by “evilness,” and his memory would endure long after Sarah’s.

“I pray that you see his face when you see him at night,” she continued.

Standing up, Sarah Boone says, “I hope you forgive me.”
