Memphis, Tennessee – Two young men from Springfield were killed in a terrible accident that occurred on Whites Creek Pike near Sycamore Creek Road on Thursday morning. The accident included three vehicles and was quite destructive.
A report from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department indicates that the collision took place at approximately 7:50 in the morning. During the collision, a GMC Sierra pickup truck and a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu, which was being driven by Robin Bernard, who was 70 years old and from Portland, Tennessee, drove into the northbound lanes with each other. After that, a dump truck that was heading southbound collided with the Malibu. The dump truck had attempted to brake, but it was unable to come to a stop in time.
The sad accident resulted in the deaths of two individuals who were passengers in the Malibu. Andy O. Hernandez, who was 22 years old, and Jonathan J. Palafox-Pacheco, who was 20 years old, both passed away. It was determined that Palafox-Pacheco had passed away at the scene of the accident, while Hernandez was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries there.
The driver of the Malibu, Robin Bernard, was taken to the hospital after suffering injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. Both the driver of the GMC Sierra and the passenger were taken to the hospital, but it is anticipated that they will make a full recovery. No injuries were sustained by the driver of the dump truck.
No indications of impairment were found in any of the drivers involved, according to the authorities who corroborated this information. The crash is still being investigated, and once the inquiry is over, the District Attorney’s Office will assess the findings to determine whether or not they are appropriate.
