The 91st annual Elbert County Fair is set to bring nine days of excitement, tradition, and community spirit to Kiowa from July 26 through August 3. Held at the Elbert County Fairgrounds (95 Ute Ave.), this year’s fair promises to be bigger than ever with live music, youth showcases, livestock competitions, thrilling rodeo events, and more.
Fair Board President Tammi Schneider said last year’s fair drew record-breaking attendance and hopes for an even better turnout this year. “We want the community to come, and we want the county and the surrounding areas to enjoy our fair as well,” Schneider said.
The fair highlights Elbert County’s thriving 4-H programs, with livestock shows, showmanship contests, and the Junior Livestock Auction giving local youth a platform to shine. “This is where we get to highlight and let the kids take center stage,” Schneider added.
Festivities kick off a day early on July 25 with the ticketed Sips & Spurs: A Cowgirl’s Night Out, featuring curated cocktails and a fashion show to benefit the Elbert County Fair Foundation.
Opening Day Highlights (July 26):
- Mountain States Highland Cattle Show
- Centennial Farms and Ranches Banquet (ticketed)
- Walker Williams Band concert
- Young Guns Rodeo
- Fireworks show, a rare treat for Elbert County
Family Favorites Return:
