Billionaire Elon Musk, the promoter of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is still waiting for the US Congress to approve his Stimulus Payment initiative, which will provide taxpayers with a $5,000 deposit based on nearly $2 trillion in federal spending savings.
James Fishback, CEO of the investment company Bay West Capital, was the first person to suggest that some of this money should be given back to US consumers. This idea has caught the attention of both US President Donald Trump and Musk. The idea has been approved by the White House and would give away 20% of the DOGE savings. However, Congress has not yet approved it.
When would the DOGE Stimulus Payment be approved?
Families in the United States still have a long way to go before they can cash these checks. The plan would need to be approved by Congress, which is not a sure thing. It worries some lawmakers, especially conservatives, that such a big amount of money will cause prices to rise.
Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House of Representatives, for example, proposed that the savings be used to pay down the national debt rather than distributed to citizens. “Politically, that would be ideal for us because everyone would receive a check. But when we consider our core principles, fiscal responsibility is what we do as conservatives.”

Elon Musk rethinks DOGE Stimulus Pay
The billionaire’s plan is meant to save the government $2 trillion. Musk recently lowered people’s hopes by saying that this number would only be reached in the best-case situation and that a more realistic number would be around $1 trillion. They said, “I think if we try to get $2 trillion, we have a good chance of getting $1 trillion.”
The timetable for achieving this goal is another unknown. The initiative DOGE has until 2026 to meet its savings targets, after which checks could be issued if the proposal gains enough momentum and political support. There is currently no date for its approval, as debates in Washington continue and savings must reach Elon Musk’s target figure.
Note: most are flagrant lies. Fabricated numbers by the ketamine Junkie, Musk.
