Colorado Family Wants Justice After Dog Stolen and Thrown From Moving Car. Colorado Alex Ordonez, 18, claims that throughout the previous week, his family’s Commerce City home and their hearts have seemed much more empty.
“You don’t hear the door scratching, or you don’t hear our dog barking outside. “It’s simply different,” Ordonez remarked.
The loss of their cherished 12-year-old dog, Rambo, who has been with them since 2012 when they received him as a present from family friends, has left them feeling very sad.
Alex Ordonez remarked, “He’s always been a good dog,” “We’re a really close family, and Rambo was always with us in every moment.”
Ordonez claims that Rambo vanished on November 23 after 7 p.m., when they allowed him to remain in the yard while they attended a church function.
“He doesn’t usually do anything, he’s just guarding our house you know,” Ordonez replied.
They didn’t know what had happened to their cat until a few days later, when they came across a post from the Commerce City Police Department featuring Rambo’s picture.
“I was so excited about seeing my dog that I didn’t read the thing that happened to him,” Ordonez recalled.
At the intersection of East 64th Avenue and Monaco Street, a good samaritan reportedly witnessed someone hurling Rambo out of the passenger side window of a moving car, according to Commerce City police.
“He heard the animal yelp when he hit the ground and crawled over to the sidewalk,” revealed Joanna Small, a Commerce City police public information officer. “The good samaritan remained on the scene and [offered] a box, but the officers trying to assist were unable to do anything. When we brought the animal to an emergency veterinary clinic, we discovered that his spine was so badly broken that he was unable to feel his legs, thus he had to be put down.
Ordonez claims that in addition to being heartbroken by the incident, his family was also upset that they were unable to say goodbye.
We made an effort to provide him the finest life possible. Therefore, it’s terrible when you’ve had a dog for 12 years and he’s very dear to your heart, and then he suddenly disappears,” he remarked.
He says he hopes someone will be able to identify the person who may have harmed their dog, but he forgives them.
“I think we do [have] to find out who it is and take action for what they have done,” Ordonez stated.
Police are still searching for a description of the car and additional details about the suspect who may have taken Rambo.
