Cincinnati Woman Sentenced to Prison After Driving Into Three Young Children Following Apartment Dispute

Cincinnati, Ohio — Nearly a year after three small children were struck by a vehicle outside an apartment complex, a 25-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in the incident.

Jada Luckey pleaded guilty in January to four counts of felonious assault stemming from the July 30, 2025 crash outside the Alms apartments on Victory Parkway.

According to court records, Luckey was sentenced on Feb. 18 to four years on each count, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently. That means she will serve a total of four to six years in prison, and she will receive credit for 203 days already served in jail.

Dispute Escalated Outside Apartment Complex

The incident occurred after a confrontation between Luckey and other women outside the apartment complex.

A sentencing memorandum reviewed by media outlets states that Luckey and a friend were attempting to leave the property when she became involved in a verbal exchange with another adult woman. The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation, with multiple individuals allegedly joining in.

Court documents indicate that Luckey was pushed against the trunk of her own vehicle during the altercation. She then managed to get into her car and attempted to leave the scene.

Prosecutors allege that in what they described as a “fit of rage” following the fight, Luckey drove toward one of the women involved in the dispute. Three children who were nearby were struck in the process.

The children were all 3 years old or younger, according to local reports.

Serious Injuries to the Children

Authorities said the crash resulted in severe injuries.

Court records cited by local media indicate that a 2-year-old boy suffered critical injuries, including multiple fractures and other serious trauma. Two other young children were also injured and required hospitalization.

Officials have not publicly identified the victims.

The case drew widespread attention in the Cincinnati community due to the young ages of the children and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Drug and Alcohol Admission

Court documents further state that Luckey admitted to law enforcement that she had been using drugs and alcohol on the day of the crash.

Her defense attorney acknowledged in court that she made what he described as “a horrible, horrible decision”, while also arguing that she had been provoked during the altercation.

Despite that claim, prosecutors emphasized that the decision to drive the vehicle in the direction of people — including children — resulted in devastating consequences.

Statement at Sentencing

During her sentencing hearing, Luckey addressed the court and the victims’ families.

“I’m sorry, it was never my intention to hurt anyone’s children. If I could take it back, I would, and I take full accountability,” she said, according to local station WLWT.

The judge ultimately imposed concurrent sentences, meaning the four-year terms for each of the four counts will be served at the same time rather than consecutively.

With time already served credited, Luckey will remain in state custody to complete the remainder of her sentence.

Community Impact

The incident underscores how quickly confrontations can escalate and lead to life-altering consequences.

Prosecutors argued that regardless of any provocation, choosing to operate a vehicle in a way that endangered bystanders — especially young children — warranted significant prison time.

As the legal proceedings conclude, attention now turns to the recovery and long-term well-being of the children involved.
