A non-partisan preliminary election on Sept. 9 will narrow the race to two candidates, followed by the general election on Nov. 4. The mayoral election is to be held simultaneously with the 2025
Boston City Council
election.
In Massachusetts, the Office of Campaign and Political Finance sets
contribution limits
on a variety of committees and contributors. For example, individuals can contribute up to $1,000 per year to a candidate, while Political Action Committees (PACs) can contribute $500 per year to a candidate.

from the OCPF, Boston.com is tracking the contributions to each mayoral candidate since the beginning of the year. These contributions include donations of goods and services (also called “in-kind contributions”).
