The most highly anticipated sports game of the entire year took place at Schluntz Gymnasium on Thursday, March 17, as #8 Duke and the #6 University of North Carolina (the high school equivalents to the elite college programs), both underdogs throughout the playoffs, battled in a high intensity Rec Ball Championship.

Eight members of the boys indoor track team qualified for the MIAA All-State Indoor Championships. The number of events they qualified for was the most since 2008. The Championships took place on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston.

This made them officially eliminated from the run to playoffs. However, their perseverance as a team did not falter at any point in the game.

It was an extremely close competition, with the Warriors losing in the final match. Even though the team lost, Coach Steve Lantos said he was very satisfied with how the match went.
