Students protest lack of clear dress code through demonstrations in freshman advisories

Leon Yang, Sports Writing Editor March 17, 2016
On Tuesday, March 15, about 40 students walked into freshman advisories in order to protest the lack of a clear set of dress code guidelines, which they said causes teachers to arbitrarily “dress-code” them, by taking them aside and telling them that their attire is inappropriate and that they must change. After entering the advisories, students involved in the protests read a statement condemning the current ambiguous dress code, then left the classroom immediately afterwards.

51 bus to South Brookline late and inconsistent in arrivals

Cleo Falvey , Arts Writing Editor January 29, 2016
For many students who live in South Brookline, getting home after school is no small task: Living four or more miles from the school, they must take the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) supplemental 51 Bus, which is a special route that picks up high school students on campus after school. According to students, the bus is problematic due to its tardiness and inconsistency in arrivals, however, administrators said that they can’t do much about it because the bus is operated and run by the MBTA.
