Police in South Miami are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who was seen on security footage taking a woman’s pocketbook at a nearby eatery.
The victim, who only wanted to be known as Tara, expressed her hope that coming forward will result in an arrest.
“It is really awful,” Tara remarked. “You do feel violated by it. The existence of thieves in the world is very regrettable.

The event took place at Maman, a café located in the 5800 block of S.W. 72nd St., last Wednesday afternoon.
At the time of the incident, Tara, who was on vacation from Rhode Island, was eating lunch with her daughter. She acknowledged that her daughter’s health problems might have diverted her attention.
According to surveillance footage, a man sitting behind Tara pulled her money out of her tote bag while reaching across with a blue shirt to hide his motions.
The suspect then tried to charge more than $2,000 worth of goods at a Saks Fifth Avenue store using one of Tara’s credit cards, but the transaction was denied after she cancelled the card, according to South Miami Police Sgt. Fernando Bosch.
Police: The suspect might commit the same crime again.
Bosch thinks the suspect has probably committed similar offenses in the past.
Bosch remarked, “Just the way he operates,” “This individual was quite cunning and removed his shirt to hide the robbery. A regular individual wouldn’t do it.
$30 in cash, credit cards, and her ID were all found in Tara’s pilfered red leather Gucci wallet.
According to police, the suspect is a white man in his 30s to 40s who has a red minion tattoo on his left calf and a tattoo on his left shoulder.
