ATMORE, Ala. — Several homes in Atmore were broken into on Halloween night, and cops are now looking into what happened.
An APD news statement says that around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, shots were fired into a home in the 400 block of 4th Avenue. Police were called to the scene.
The release says that when the police came, they found 49 empty shell casings from three different guns.
Police from the APD said that no one was hurt, but that gunshots hit several homes and cars.
Several police officers said they heard gunshots and went to the scene. According to the GPS on the patrol car, the officer in charge of the area had just driven through the intersection where the suspects were firing four minutes before the shooting.
The news release said, “Chief Brooks has been in touch with liaisons from several federal law enforcement agencies to help the Atmore Police Department stop the senseless gun violence happening in our community.”
The news statement said that the suspects would be charged with attempted murder and any other charges that might apply once they were found.
