Alleged 23-year-old drunk driver kills 1, seriously injures another in N.H. crash, police say

A 23-year-old guy from Londonderry, New Hampshire, is accused of driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck while intoxicated and is now facing several charges.

According to a press release from the local police, Ryan Dooley’s vehicle struck a Honda Civic at around 6:30 p.m. in Londonderry, close to 63 Hall Road.

Officers used a tourniquet on the driver’s leg before firefighters came and released the driver and passenger from the Civic after the collision trapped them inside their car. After suffering severe injuries, the driver was brought to Manchester’s Elliot Hospital, where, according to police, they were in critical but stable condition as of Friday morning. After being transported by medflight to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, the passenger was declared deceased.

The announcement stated that when cops arrived, Dooley was out of his car and seemed to be unharmed. According to authorities, officers noticed indications of intoxication while conversing with him.

Police stated that preliminary results suggest that speed and alcohol appear to have played a role in the collision, but they did not elaborate on the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Following his arrest, Dooley was charged with two charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving while intoxicated, careless operation, and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Then, on Friday morning, police added two charges: negligent homicide with a DUI and negligent homicide.

Dooley was detained until his arraignment in Derry District Court on Friday.
