Alan Dershowitz decries ‘bigoted vendor’ who denied him pierogi at Martha’s Vineyard farmers’ market

Alan Dershowitz insists on being satisfied. Or a dish of hot pierogi, at the very least.

Returning to Martha’s Vineyard, the former attorney for Jeffrey Epstein and President Donald Trump is involved in yet another high-profile dispute. His opponent this time is a farmers market stand that allegedly turned him away from the Polish dumplings because of his political beliefs.

For political reasons, a bigoted seller at Martha’s Vineyard Farmer’s Market declined to sell to me. On Wednesday, Dershowitz said on social media, “I’m suing.” Soon after, the contentious lawyer went into further detail about the incident via livestream video.

According to Dershowitz, his excursion to the pierogi stand went awry as he was enjoying a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and the excitement of an early corn haul. He had placed an order for half a dozen but was denied.

“Oh, you’re out of pierogies?” I asked. Unfortunately, Dershowitz remembered during his broadcast.

We have enough of pierogi, so no, no, no. According to him, the dealer responded, “I just won’t sell them to you.” I disagree with your politics, thus I won’t sell them to you. I disagree with the person you have represented. I disagree with the people you endorse.

Dershowitz claims that it is evident that the vendor objected to both his vocal Zionism and his efforts during Trump’s first Senate impeachment trial. He went on to say that refusing an attorney service based on the clients they have served was blatant McCarthyism.

Dershowitz also suggested that the farmers market be sued to make sure that merchants who discriminate on the basis of politics, gender, ethnicity, or religion are prohibited. He stated in an interview with Newsweek that he expects to settle the issue without going to court.

Despite resharing an Instagram video showing a police officer who seemed to be stepping in to help Dershowitz after he was ejected from the stand, the seller, Good Pierogi, did not reply to a request for comment on Thursday.

Dershowitz has a history of arguments on his midsummer getaways to Martha’s Vineyard. On the island in 2021, he famously got into a heated argument with comedian Larry David. The altercation started when the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator chastised Dershowitz for his Trump connections, and it ended when Dershowitz took off his shirt to show a second T-shirt with a pro-Constitution message on it.

In 2018, the famous attorney also lamented his lackluster social welcome on Martha’s Vineyard, claiming that partisan fanatics there had rejected him because he had defended Trump.

Dershowitz continued on Wednesday, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a place that is as intolerant as Martha’s Vineyard, particularly Chilmark, where I live and have lived for so many years.” The intolerance is quite astounding.

Dershowitz informed viewers that he is not concerned about his lack of pierogi, even though he threatened to take legal action.

No pierogi for Alan since you disagree with his beliefs, he is a Zionist, and he defended the wrong people. “So, no pierogi for Alan tonight,” he replied in a mocking tone. Well, I believe I’ll make it through.
