A Guy in Redondo Beach is Accused of Killing Nine Women, Sexually Assaulting Them, and Giving Them Drugs

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said Friday that a guy from Redondo Beach was charged with drugging and sexually assaulting at least nine women. One of the victims died from the drugs.

Five counts of rape, one count of sodomy, and one count of murder were brought against Michael DiGiorgio, 50. Authorities say that many of the crimes were committed while the victims were high on drugs. Three of the victims were seriously hurt by DiGiorgio.

According to a statement from Dist. Atty. George Gascón feels very sorry for the victims whose lives were changed forever and the life that was lost because of the claimed violent acts of the offender. “Our office is determined to hold him responsible for the harm and suffering he has caused.”

Authorities say that the crimes happened at DiGiorgio’s homes in Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach between 2019 and November 2021. On July 6, 2020, DiGiorgio was charged with the murder, rape by drug use, and other crimes against Jane Doe 1. He is also accused of selling or moving a drug on November 28, 2021.

The Sex Crimes Division of the district attorney’s office thinks there may be more victims and wants anyone with information about DiGiorgio to call the Redondo Beach Police Department’s tip at (714) 863-2859.

Jail records show that he was taken on Thursday and that no bail was set.

DiGiorgio is due in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom on Friday for his arraignment. If he is found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in jail.

Court records show that DiGiorgio was charged with rape, sexual attack of an intoxicated person, and other crimes in August 2020. The next year, that case was thrown out because it did not have a quick hearing.

In a statement, the district attorney’s office said that they couldn’t move forward with that case because the court gave “a motion to quash,” which meant that evidence to prove the People’s case was thrown out.
