Savannah, Georgia — Halloween 2026 is bringing a full lineup of spooky attractions, community celebrations and family-friendly activities to Savannah. With its historic streets, moss-covered oak trees and reputation for ghost stories, the coastal Georgia city offers plenty of ways to enjoy the Halloween season.

Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026, giving families and visitors an entire weekend to explore costume events, candy giveaways and haunted-history experiences. Savannah Police have also recommended trick-or-treating hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween night.

1. Trunk-or-Treat at the Savannah Impact Program

Families can kick off Halloween weekend with a community Trunk-or-Treat event hosted by the Savannah Impact Program. The celebration is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 2005 Waters Avenue.

The free event will feature decorated vehicles distributing candy, along with local businesses, food vendors, artisans and community organisations. It offers children an opportunity to enjoy Halloween treats in a community setting before the main holiday weekend begins.

2. Blue Light Fright Night

The Savannah Police Department is hosting Blue Light Fright Night on Saturday, October 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at its Central Precinct, located at 1710 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The free public event will feature a haunted walk-through experience and candy for attendees. Pre-filled treat bags will also be available for visitors using strollers and wheelchairs.

The event provides an option for families looking for Halloween entertainment organised by local law enforcement.

3. City of Savannah Annual Trunk-or-Treat

Another community celebration is scheduled for Friday, October 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Crusader Community Center, 81 Coffee Bluff Villa Road.

The event is expected to feature decorated vehicle trunks, trick-or-treating, costumes, inflatables, music, refreshments and photo opportunities.

Families planning to attend should note the designated parking arrangements. Vehicles distributing candy will use the main parking lot, while other attendees must park in the designated field area.

4. Halloween Ghost Tours in Historic Savannah

Savannah’s historic district is a popular destination for visitors interested in ghost stories and local legends. During Halloween week, guided walking tours provide an opportunity to explore historic streets while learning about the city’s darker history and reported paranormal encounters.

Ghost tours are scheduled for Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, with one advertised tour running from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Ticket prices for that tour are listed at $32–$36.

Visitors should check age restrictions, available places and meeting arrangements before booking. Some tours are suitable for families, while others are designed for adult audiences.

5. Halloween Activities Along Savannah’s Riverfront

River Street and the surrounding waterfront area are popular places to explore during Savannah’s Halloween season. The annual Trick-or-Treat on River Street took place on October 24, with more than 30 waterfront merchants participating in the free candy-distribution event.

Although that family activity has already passed, visitors can still explore the historic riverfront during Halloween week and look for separately announced seasonal entertainment.

Anyone planning an evening visit should allow extra time for parking and walking, particularly on Saturday, when Halloween celebrations may attract larger crowds.

6. Halloween Costume Fun for Children

Children can make the most of Halloween by dressing up as their favourite characters, joining community events and collecting treats at participating locations.

Savannah’s scheduled Trunk-or-Treat celebrations offer alternatives to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. Families can choose an event based on their children’s ages, preferred activities and evening schedules.
