Forney, Texas – Two men wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Florida were arrested this week during a coordinated traffic stop in North Texas, officials confirmed.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Trevon Quinones and Jayden DeJesus were taken into custody Wednesday in Forney. Both men are facing charges of murder and tampering/fabricating evidence with intent to impair, stemming from an active case out of Broward County, Florida.
Authorities said the arrests followed assistance requested by the United States Marshals Service, which contacted Kaufman County investigators after receiving information that the suspects were believed to be in North Texas.
Homicide Investigation Began in Florida
The case began in Broward County when deputies responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in an unincorporated area of West Broward County.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy and a park ranger located a green Honda parked in a grassy area along the north side of a park. Upon approaching the vehicle, authorities discovered a deceased man in the front passenger seat.
Broward County Homicide Detectives immediately launched an investigation into the man’s death.
As detectives gathered evidence, they developed information that led them to identify Quinones and DeJesus as suspects. Authorities then learned the pair may have traveled out of state, prompting coordination with federal and Texas law enforcement.
Suspects Located at North Texas Apartment Complex
Investigators tracked the suspect vehicle to an apartment complex in Forney, located in Kaufman County, Texas.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Kaufman County K-9 Unit, the Forney Police Department, and the Kaufman County Constable’s Office, worked together to conduct a traffic stop involving the suspects.
Officials confirmed the two men were arrested without incident during the stop.
Law enforcement described the operation as a coordinated effort to safely take the suspects into custody.

Held in Texas Awaiting Extradition
Following their arrests, Quinones and DeJesus were booked into the Kaufman County Jail.
Authorities confirmed that the men are currently being held while awaiting extradition proceedings to return them to Florida, where they will face the charges filed in Broward County.
Officials have not released the identity of the deceased victim or additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged homicide. A possible motive has also not been disclosed.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office continues to lead the homicide investigation in Florida. Officials indicated that further information may be released as the case progresses.
