Alabama Mother and Two Children Missing After Neighbor’s 911 Call Uncovers Signs of Struggle

Mobile County, Alabama — Authorities are searching for a mother and her two children after they were reported missing under alarming circumstances, with investigators saying evidence inside the family’s home suggests they may have been taken against their will.

The case unfolded after a concerned neighbor contacted emergency services when the woman failed to show up for work and could not be reached, prompting deputies to conduct a welfare check at her residence.

Welfare Check Leads to Disturbing Discovery

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after a neighbor reported that Aurelia Choc Cac, 40, was unreachable and had missed a scheduled ride to work. The neighbor, who typically picked her up because she does not drive, said repeated attempts to make contact were unsuccessful.

When law enforcement entered the home, they discovered what officials described as clear signs of a struggle.

“There was obviously some kind of struggle, based on the scene,” — Sheriff Paul Burch, Mobile County

Deputies reported finding blood inside the residence, along with clothing scattered across a bedroom and a missing mattress, all of which raised immediate concern.

Mother and Children Unaccounted For

Authorities confirmed that Choc Cac and her two children — Niurka, 17, and Anthony, 2 — were not found at the home and have not been located since.

Investigators also noted that cash was left behind, leading officials to believe the family may not have left voluntarily.

“Based on what we found, it appears they were likely taken against their will,” officials told local media.

Choc Cac was last seen on Friday, and deputies believe the disappearance occurred sometime after that.

Neighbor Details Events Leading Up to 911 Call

The neighbor who placed the 911 call told dispatchers he became concerned after Choc Cac failed to answer the door the morning she was expected to go to work.

“Nobody could get ahold of her. She was supposed to be at work,” he told the dispatcher, according to local reporting.

He explained that he entered the home only after receiving no response, given their familiarity as neighbors.

Person of Interest Ruled Out

Investigators initially questioned Anthony’s father, Juan Antonio Garcia, as part of the investigation. However, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that he is no longer considered a suspect in the case.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and that they are continuing to follow multiple leads.

Additional Context Released by Authorities

Sheriff Burch confirmed that Choc Cac and her teenage daughter are currently under a deportation order, though officials stressed that this status does not change the urgency of the search or the nature of the investigation.

Law enforcement has not indicated whether immigration status is believed to be connected to the disappearance.

Family Issues Public Plea

As the search continues, Choc Cac’s oldest daughter made an emotional appeal, asking for the safe return of her family members.

“Whoever did this, please bring my little brother home,” she said.

Authorities said the well-being of the children is their top priority.

Investigation Ongoing

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the family’s whereabouts to come forward immediately. Detectives are continuing to process evidence from the home and interview potential witnesses.

Officials have not announced an Amber Alert but say that option remains under consideration depending on developments.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office or local law enforcement.
