Mount Prospect, IL – A 35-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly beating and sexually assaulting a woman in Mount Prospect, authorities said. Andres Morales Gonzalez faces multiple felony charges following the incident, which occurred early on Jan. 17.

Mount Prospect Police responded around 12:33 a.m. to the 100 block of North Main Street, where officers found an individual trying to pull a man off a woman who was lying on the ground. Gonzalez was quickly detained at the scene.
“Officers found an individual trying to pull a man off of a woman who was on the ground. Officers quickly put the man in handcuffs,” police said.
Investigators determined that the woman was returning home when Gonzalez allegedly tackled her from behind in her driveway. Authorities say Gonzalez slammed her head into the pavement multiple times, strangled her with his arm, and sexually assaulted her.
A family member of the victim heard her screaming and intervened, wrestling Gonzalez off her until police arrived.
