Nashua, NH — A New Hampshire woman is facing serious charges after her 6-year-old daughter ingested a THC gummy and later tested positive for cannabinoids and cocaine, authorities say. The incident prompted a police investigation after the state Division for Children, Youth and Families alerted the Nashua Police Department on November 3, 2025.
Child Hospitalized Following Drug Ingestion
Detectives discovered that the juvenile victim was hospitalized following the ingestion of the THC gummy. Hospital tests confirmed the presence of illegal drugs, including cannabinoids and cocaine, in the child’s system. The alarming findings led authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and the child’s living environment.
Mother Allegedly Tampered With Witness
The investigation revealed that Paige Goulet, 30, allegedly told a witness not to cooperate with police, an action investigators describe as witness tampering. Detectives determined that Goulet neglected her duty to care for her daughter, raising serious concerns about the child’s safety and well-being.
Arrest and Charges
Goulet was arrested Monday by Meredith police on a felony warrant related to witness tampering in the ongoing Nashua police investigation. She was taken into custody by Nashua police and formally charged with:
- Tampering with witnesses
- Endangering the welfare of a child
Goulet was subsequently released on $300 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on January 7, 2026.
Official Statements
The Nashua Police Department emphasized the seriousness of the case, noting that Goulet’s actions both in allowing her child to ingest a THC gummy and attempting to interfere with the investigation demonstrate a clear failure of parental responsibility.
“Detectives learned that Goulet had told a witness not to cooperate with the police investigation, and detectives determined that Goulet had neglected her duty to care for her juvenile daughter,” the department stated in a release.
Community Impact and Awareness
The case has raised awareness about the risks of drugs in homes with young children and the importance of reporting any potential endangerment to the authorities. Officials urge parents and caregivers to secure substances, including THC products and other illegal drugs, out of the reach of children and to comply fully with investigations if incidents occur.
