Now that the town’s recently renovated Market Basket facility is open, shoppers in North Andover may once again receive more for their money.
The supermarket company declared on Friday that the 350 Winthrop Avenue location had formally celebrated its grand reopening. Market Basket announced the completion of the renovation in a Facebook post the week prior.
At the North Andover Mall, the renovated store opened just adjacent to its former position. After 44 years of operation, the original store closed Thursday night, according to MassLive.
The Eagle-Tribune reports that the new store is 92,000 square feet, almost 40% larger than the old.
The new store will have more prepared goods, a coffee and ice cream bar with indoor seating, and a specialty butcher shop to fully utilize the additional space.
According to Friday’s post, Market Basket will be offering exclusive discounts at all locations through August 30 in honor of the occasion. The chain’s weekly flier allows customers to examine the entire selection of specials.
