Police claim that the Maineman shot a pregnant woman at a pond in Carver last week and then used the gun on his cousin outside a sports bar in Dennis a few hours later. He is now facing charges.
According to police records filed in court, on August 13, Anthony A. Delman, 37, of Fryeburg, reportedly shot the lady he had previously dated as she drove away from Sampson Pond.
According to Carver police, the woman may have been shot in the hip when she arrived at the town’s police station at 7:37 p.m. to report that her car had been broken into. According to police, she was brought to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth with non-life-threatening injuries after showing an officer a wound that appeared to be a bullet hole.

According to police records, an officer also found two gunshot holes in the woman’s vehicle: one in the driver’s side door and another sticking out from the passenger side roof. Police said they discovered a shell casing on the passenger side floor, indicating that the gunshot that ripped through the roof was fired inside the vehicle.
Police say that earlier in the day, Delman was seen sitting in the passenger seat on security tape. Investigators were allegedly informed by the lady that she had FaceTimed with Delman’s cousin and had been pleading with him to come get Delman.
Delman is accused of shooting Dennis in the leg outside of Buncey’s Pizza & Sports Cafe after his cousin gave him a ride from Carver to Dennis.
Around 9 p.m. on August 13, the proprietor of the restaurant reported hearing a loud bang and a man crying as though he had been harmed, prompting a Dennis officer to arrive at Buncey’s. When authorities saw Delman’s cousin outside a nearby convenience shop and asked him who was responsible, he allegedly revised his tale, despite previously telling police that he had never seen the gunman before.
By the police report, he said, “You guys already know.” My cousin was the one.
According to police records, Delman’s relative allegedly told officials that Delman is insane and has mental health problems. Additionally, he claimed that after threatening to harm himself and pointing a gun at his own head, Delman shot the cousin after being ordered to halt.
According to a police report, Delman was taken into custody the next morning when an officer saw him emerge from a nearby wooded area and stretch, his arms out over his head as though he had just woken up.
According to the authorities, Delman had numerous scratches on his face, arms, and legs from sprinting through the woods and various pricker plants. He reportedly informed police that he had fled to escape when two masked individuals shot at his cousin’s automobile outside of Buncey’s.
In relation to the Dennis shooting, Delman has entered a not guilty plea to a number of counts, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon that resulted in serious bodily damage as well as other firearm violations. After a dangerousness hearing, he was placed on hold and is scheduled to return to court on September 15.
A request for comment was not immediately answered by Delman’s lawyer.
Delman will be arraigned in relation to the Sampson Pond shooting at a later time, according to Carver police. He is also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a pregnant woman and armed assault with intent to murder, among other offenses.
Delman has a long criminal history, according to the police, with 31 arraignments on his adult record.
In a statement, Carver Police Chief Marc Duphily noted that the arrest of a violent individual who was prepared to shoot a pregnant woman was a great example of good, solid police work and interagency cooperation.
