J.J. Abrams and Glen Powell are filming in Rhode Island. Here’s where they’ve been spotted.

The answer is negative if you have seen actor Glen Powell riding a bike around Rhode Island this week, apparently smeared in blood. He did not get into a fight over the final clam cake and flee on two wheels.

However, the Hit Man and Twisters star is currently filming a film alongside JJ Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakenings. According to IMDB, the picture, which was nameless when it began, is now titled Ghostwriter. It was shot this week in Providence, East Providence, and Cranston.

The Rhode Island Film & TV Office described it as merely a Warner Brothers production in an ambiguous news release.A link to a local NBC affiliate news about the Abrams movie was tweeted by Governor Dan McKee.

According to the Providence Journal, crews captured footage on Monday at the Providence Performing Arts Center and College Hill, where Powell and a stunt double were spotted riding and Powell was seen waving at a group of RISD students.

On August 17, there were white posters in the Fox Point neighborhood marking filming locations, along with some warnings about parking spots being closed from August 18–19.

On Instagram, Rockstar Piercing on Wickenden Street revealed that they had a part: they were dressed up to appear as a cell phone repair business for the purpose of filming.

According to whatsgoingoninrhodeisland.com, the Time Capsule, a comic book, record, and collectible store in Cranston, was temporarily converted into Graffiti Comics for the photo session. Powell reportedly wore the same brown slacks, brown shoes, and a plaid shirt that was made to appear bloodied there.

While filming on the East Bay Bike Path in East Providence, Abramsand Powell and Powell’s parents took a picture with East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva. On August 18, DaSilvaposted to Facebook from East Providence, which is located in Hollywood’s east coast.

According to IMDB, the cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Jenna Ortega, and Emma Mackey, although only Powell and Abrams have been observed thus far.

When it comes to getting movie shoots, Rhody has been very successful lately. In June, Jake Gyllenhaal and M. Night Shyamalan shot in locations like Little Compton, Warren, and Bristol.

The authorized documentary on the life of Rod Serling, best known as the creator, host, narrator, and primary writer of The Twilight Zone, has partnered with Verdi Productions, a Rhode Island-based production company, according to a March RI Film & TV press release. The film’s principal photography was completed in East Greenwich, Providence, and Wakefield, Rhode Island.

In Rhody, Woody Harrelson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and others shot Ella McCay last year. Harrelson visited a Pawtucket cannabis dispensary. According to IMDB, the film, which also stars Ayo Edebiri from Dorchester, is scheduled for release on December 12.

Bravo’s Real Housewives of Rhode Island will soon begin filming.
