All-you-can-eat sushi in Boston: Fill up on maki at these 5 restaurants

Does Sushi have to be costly? The few standing all-you-can-eat sushi buffets in the metro area are the best place for Bostonians to find a good sushi deal.

Boston has not yet succumbed to the $100 AYCEsushi that has affected other food scenes, like as Portland, Oregon, and San Francisco, despite escalating costs.

Rather, there are a few AYCE legends from Greater Boston. And don’t believe that these banquets would have had little chance of surviving the pandemic.

Nijiya manager Henderson Li, who runs the all-you-can-eat, made-to-order sushi restaurant in Medford, is well aware that customers seek a good bargain. According to him, the most important aspect of their business is maintaining fair prices.

In an email to Boston.com, Li stated, “That’s our entire strategy to stay in business.”

Somerville readers like Jess G. even posted it as her number one pick. The food is wonderful, the service is quick, and the best thing is that it’s quite affordable and you can eat as much as you want! She commented that this hidden gem in Medford Center was a nice find because sushi is too pricey anywhere, but especially in Boston.

Empire

The least expensive AYCE on the list isn’t served every day at this hip, clubby restaurant. However, a romantic night on Monday or Tuesday can take shape at this Big Night Entertainment location. They serve ten rolls (think specialty rolls, such a salmon mango with fried shallots or the Empire house maki with spicy tuna, herb cream cheese, sriracha sweet soy, and wasabi tobiko) at their Monday night AYCE, which begins at 5 p.m. Savor half-portions of traditional rolls on Tuesday, in addition to half-order appetizers and meals.

Monday and Tuesday prices are $49 and $59 per person, respectively.

Fat Baby

Southie’s Fat Baby only offers this maki deal on Mondays, and there are guidelines to go by. For their first order, diners must receive two rolls; for their second order, they must receive two rolls; and finally, they can only receive one roll at a time until they have consumed enough maki. There are only roughly six sushi rolls and a rotating specialty roll available, and you are not allowed to share or take to-go.

Cost: $32 per person Mondays
