ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky ‘obsessed’ with Patriots rookies, sees potentially ‘impactful’ early success

The Patriots start the 2025 season with a new head coach and a roster that has undergone significant change. With the first four picks going to key offensive positions, this features some noteworthy draft selections.

Initial reactions to the situation in New England seem positive, or at least optimistic, according to NFL observers. This particularly applies to the rookies on the Patriots.

Dan Orlovsky of ESPN stated in a recent NFL Live broadcast that he was “obsessed with the Patriots’ first three picks.”

Drake Maye’s rear protection in the opening round was Will Campbell. Kyle Williams followed by TreVeyon Henderson at running back in the second round, Orlovsky stated. Kyle Williams, in my opinion, has the potential to be one of the NFL’s most influential rookie receivers this season.

The Patriots selected Williams out of Washington State in the third round (69th overall). He demonstrated his ability to make big plays down the field in 2024 by reaching 70 receptions for 1,198 receiving yards and a school-record 14 touchdowns.

Orlovsky believes that the three rookies for the Patriots might have a significant impact on the team’s 2025 projection.

There’s a chance that this club and organization may make an impact much sooner than most people think if those three rookies can play a major role for the Patriots.

“If those three rookies can be big time players for the Patriots, there’s a chance this organization and team are going to make noise a lot sooner than people expect.”Before the upcoming season, @danorlovsky7 offers his opinions on the Patriots’ rookies.DrtVasoskS on Twitter

Today: Max Kellerman, co-host of ESPN’s First Take, famously predicted in 2016 that Tom Brady’s football career was on the verge of collapse. Brady’s age and the typical decline in a player’s skill set as he approaches his forties were the basis for the prognosis.

Brady, who was 39 at the time, won the Super Bowl that season right away. He also attended three more Super Bowls and won two of them by the time his NFL career ended.

In the end, Kellerman admitted that he had been mistaken and that Tom Brady had never fallen from a cliff.

Daily highlight: On Sunday, Ceddanne Rafaela produced one of the Red Sox’s best plays of the season by diving headfirst into second base after fielding a line drive. The double play was awarded following a review.
