Before the start of the basketball season for all of the programs, we have the final and comprehensive analysis of the top high school football teams in Massachusetts, as we see them.
1. Catholic Memorial (12-1)
With a well-rounded offensive approach that was led by running back Mekhi Dodd, the Knights were able to win the Division 2 state title with a convincing victory over King Philip Regional, which they did by a score of 39-21. Catholic Memorial was able to secure the top rank.
2. Xaverian Brothers (9-4)
The Xaverian Brothers were celebrating their triumph in the Division 1 state title the year before, which was roughly around this time.
They accomplished it once more, this time claiming a victory over a Needham team who had not yet suffered a loss, with a score of 14-7.
Despite the fact that the path leading up to the championship game was a little bit rocky, this group is battle tested with a large number of players who had experience from the previous season.
They needed to be moved up in these final rankings, so we did that.
3. Needham (12-1)
The Rockets have demonstrated throughout the season that they are deserving of a spot in the top five, but they have dropped one slot after suffering a defeat to Xaverian Brothers with a score of 14-7 in the Division 1 final game.
4. King Philip Regional (12-1)
The Warriors were clearly a very worthy opponent when they faced Catholic Memorial for the Division 2 championship, but they were unable to get the job done as they were defeated by Catholic Memorial by a score of 39-21 at Gillette Stadium.
No matter the circumstances, King Philip Regional had a successful season.
5. St. John’s Prep (10-1)
On Thanksgiving, St. John’s Prep College was victorious over Xaverian Brothers, despite the fact that this is a private school and the season has been ended for approximately a week now.
It is difficult to dismiss the most recent success that this team has achieved, despite the fact that the season ended with a loss to Needham by a score of 22-14.
6. Scituate (13-0)
The Sailors have had a remarkable journey through the playoffs during the Division 4 playoffs, and they have capped it off with a banner that represents their state victory.
The Division 4 championship was won by Scituate, who prevailed over Duxbury by a score of 29-13.
7. Boston College High (9-3)
Despite the fact that the Eagles are no longer in the running for a state championship, if you look at their schedule in its whole, you will notice that they have battled against the very best that the state has to offer.
8. Grafton (10-1)
Throughout the course of this season, the Gators will have relied heavily on the running talents of tailback Finn Gilmore.
During the fall season, Gilmore led Grafton in receiving yards with 1,531 and scored 24 touchdowns. It was a loss to Sciuate in the playoffs that brought an end to Grafton’s season.
9. Hudson (13-0)
The Hawks went into the game for the Division 6 state championship needing a strong performance from quarterback Jake Attaway in all aspects of the game, and they not only get that, but they go above and above.
Hudson was able to pull off a victory by a score of 21-14, which propelled them into our final set of rankings.
10. Duxbury (10-3)
With their prior playoff performances serving as a source of confidence, the Dragons entered the Division 4 state championship game that took place last week with a sense of assurance in their hearts.
Despite this, Duxbury was ultimately unable in achieving their entire objective, as they were defeated by a powerful Scituate team by a score of 29-13.
Despite the fact that they have demonstrated that they are among the best teams in the state, we have made the decision to maintain this club’s position as the last one.
