DUI Driver Crashes, Drugs and Alcohol Seized in Separate Route 208 Incidents: Police. The first incident happened on December 4 at around 12:47 a.m., when Christopher W. Morgan, 41, of North Arlington, and Stephanie A. Swords, 36, of Mahwah, were arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Route 208 North. Capt. Robert Grassi of the Franklin Lakes Police Department said.

They were both accused with possessing restricted dangerous drugs, or CDS. Additionally, Morgan received multiple motor vehicle summonses, including one for having an open alcohol container and one for possessing CDS in a motor vehicle. The inquiry was carried out by PO Rosado, Sgt. Blum, and Police Officer Foschini.

Two days later, on December 6, Franklin Lakes police were called to a 911 complaint of a collision involving a power pole near High Mountain Road and Summit Avenue. A severely damaged 2023 Toyota SUV that had collided with the pole was found by the officers.

Police apprehended the driver, James E. Hornby, 40, of Mahwah, following more investigation. Hornby had numerous traffic citations and was accused of driving under the influence. The investigation was also led by PO Rosado and Sgt. Blum.
