Festival of Lights Parade Shines Bright in Downtown Celebration. There was a lot of Christmas happiness on Main Avenue if you were in downtown Twin Falls on Friday night.
Many of the floats in the Festival of Lights Parade were illuminated by lights. There was plenty of hot food and hot chocolate available to keep people warm as they braved the cold to take in the sights. Participants take pleasure in introducing the community to these joyous sights.
Nikki Heidemann, the owner and director of Grace Dance Academy, whose float had a Winter Queen and her animal companions, said, “It’s just bringing joy to people, that’s what it’s all about for us, is just making sure we are putting smiles on people’s faces.”
The parade route connects Dierkes Street and Jerome Street on Main Avenue. The parade’s theme this year was Winter Wonderland.
According to other attendees, it’s a wonderful chance to get to know people in the neighborhood and make all the families there happy.
The children are a lot of fun. They become really enthusiastic. Zan Taylor, the Marketing Coordinator at Summit Restoration and Construction, said, “We always throw snowballs and they holler for them and it’s, yeah, it’s just a great way to start off the season.” They had a clever ski lodge for a float.
A beautiful Christmas tree lighting marked the conclusion of the parade, which featured all of Twin Falls’ Christmas cheer. Santa and reindeer were also included.
