Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Teen in Thousand Oaks Neighborhood Identified as the Victim’s Brother, Family Says. A nude guy was taken into custody by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday night after he allegedly killed a 15-year-old child in a Thousand Oaks neighborhood.
It took place on the 400 block of Jeanne Court at about 8 p.m. Firefighters discovered that the victim, identified by family as Zayde “Buggy” Keohohou, had been hit in the head by a blunt object after initially reporting an ambulance call to emergency personnel. He passed away while being transported to the hospital by paramedics.
When the fire department came, deputies hurried to the scene and looked around the area for the culprit. About a mile away, on the football field at Newbury Park High School, they discovered the nude suspect.
Investigators determined that the suspect was Zuberi Sharp, a 24-year-old resident of Newbury Park, the same afternoon. He will be arraigned on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
The deceased and suspect were half-brothers, according to family members who spoke to KCAL News on Friday. Along with other family members, they resided at the Jeanne Court residence.
Gary Keohohou, the boy’s grandfather, stated during a press conference on Friday night, “We are grateful for the abundance of love, aloha, support, and prayers from friends and ohanas.” “We kindly request that you also respect the privacy of our neighbor…. We appreciate your prayers for Zuberi and our entire family.
According to court documents, Calvin, Sharp’s father, is also being held for murder. In 2007, he was found guilty of killing a 6-year-old boy with a meat cleaver and stabbing the boy’s mother and a neighbor who attempted to stop the assault. He is incarcerated for life without the chance of release.
